It comes in waves,
A circular haze
of gloom.
It roles on in, in many shades
Of blue.
It may just consume you.
You’d be glad, too,
Befriending the beast,
Many have tried,
But you’d accomplish the feat!
Perhaps it’s a misunderstanding,
The alien’s landing,
Perhaps it’s friendly fire,
But make one mistake in the innocent ashes,
It’ll be your pyre.
It is monstrous, what I saw
In the demon’s maw,
That same blue haze,
Dancing with murderous teeth,
Will haunt me all my days.
So listen with care,
To the story I share.
Do not fall for the haze’s deceit.
For, in my experience,
The demon will not easily accept defeat.
